Rhythm & Ritual Retreat

March 22 - 24

Every Equinox is a significant opportunity to re-establish balance.  From Latin, the word equi means equal and nox is night; this special weekend workshop will provide tools for grounding, clearing, intention setting, and releasing.  Learn to create sacred space through smudging and essential oils, explore nature with sky gazing and forest bathing, shift your energy from winter to spring with liberating yoga practices morning, noon, and night.  A very special yoga and live music concert on Saturday night with Steve Gold is included in the weekend package, and for resort guests, Steve will share stories from journeys as a renowned singer/songwriter.

Erin Bowman began her yoga journey more than 20 years ago.  At first yoga was a mystical hobby, seemingly magic in it’s vast opportunity to learn new ways to move, breathe, and be.  Now as a yoga educator, studio owner, and therapist, Erin’s passion continues to grow and the love of learning guides her teaching.  Expect creativity, introspection, and thoughtful lessons where students become anchored in present moment awareness. Erin will guide you through the landscape of your body, mind, and spirit with joy, compassion, and intuition.

Steve Gold is a motivational singer, songwriter, bestselling recording artist, and Certified Coach. Steve travels the world performing for corporate and public events, and leading workshops and guided meditations. His ability to spontaneously transform the energy of the room lives beyond his performance, and has a powerful impact on communities.

Friday RetreatFRIDAY

Moon Mala Meditation - 4 p.m.

Honor the natural rhythms of nature as represented by the recent Equinox and full moon using ancient focus and visualization techniques.

Malas are ancient meditation tools, similar to a rosary.  The word mala means garland, or wreath and they are commonly worn as a necklace. In this 90 minute workshop we’ll explain some of the principles and traditions of Japa Mala while leading you through the process of making your own. Once completed, you’ll learn simple meditation techniques you can use at home, including intention setting.

Candlelit Earth Yoga: Vernal Nox - 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

This first evening together, Steve and Erin will lull you back to your roots where you can begin to surrender to the essence of the earth.  Slow and steady postures will ground you; poignant and poetic vocals will call to your most intimate and inward soul voice. Vernal (spring) nox (night) practice will be lit with your weekends intentions, candles, that symbolize the burning away of the winter and darkness with the light that always resides within each of us.

Saturday RetreatSATURDAY

Sun Salutation: Mane Diluculo - 7 a.m. - 8 a.m

Wake with the sun with energy building sun salutations and rhythmic breath work.  This shorter practice will warm you from the inside out in preparation for clear inward vision and focus, guiding your day.

Mindful Nourishment & Light Communal Breakfast - 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

San Kalpa Beach Walk - 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

San kalpa is the Sanskrit word for intention.  With renewed inner guidance, we’ll silently walk to the beach where we will write our intentions in the sand and trust the infinite wisdom of nature to nurture our vision.

Liminal Space: Yoga for Transitions & Balance - 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Liminal is defined as a thresh hold, or transitional space.  This mid-day practice will unite from the earth to sky within your own ecosystem:  building on the grounding work from Friday and the morning sun and reflections, we’ll reside in balance between day and night though traditional and intuitive movement.

Forest Bathing & Foraging - 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Forest bathing is a Japanese healing practice, similar to walking meditation.  When we step into the welcoming arms of Salishan’s forest, we surrender to the wisdom of nature and allow the most gentle unraveling of life’s challenges.  Often times cathartic, being immersed in the forest requires only an open heart. Please wear layers for warmth and sturdy walking shoes.

Community Revival Musical Keynote with Steve Gold - 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Highly spirited, a Community Revival keynote concert during which Steve shares his inspirational original songs, American Roots music, celebratory group singing and some personal story telling. The experience is food for the soul, inspiring a renewed sense of connection to self and others.

Sunday RetreatSUNDAY

Mindful Nourishment & Light Communal Breakfast - 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Create Sacred Space with Seasonal Ritual, Yoga, and Meditation - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

This creative workshop will be a true yogic, meaning to yoke or join, experience.  With Steve on guitar, provisions for smudge pot and wand making from the Salishan’s sacred forest, and the wisdom of nature, elders, and cultural traditions we’ll visualize and outline ways to create more opportunities for conscious living.  This lesson will culminate with a farewell walk to the beach.

This is what our guests are saying

Salishan has recently changed ownership and the new management has made exciting changes and breathed new life into the resort... This is a wonderful destination resort for people looking for a peaceful retreat and a classic Pacific Northwest experience. At the same time, there is enough action going on that it’s a great resort for families.

Leah Deangelis (The Modern Travelers)

Lovely hotel situated in a nicely landscaped environment. Room was comfortable and clean; contained a dining table with chairs near a welcoming fireplace.

We had a wonderful weekend stay on this beautiful property! The staff was very helpful, knowledable and unpretentious. We were able to relax and wander the property and take advantage of a few of the many activities.

Fishmanr5 (TripAdvisor)

Really great location. My family liked being tucked back in the forest. My son loved the pool and getting to hunt for glass floats!

bad_oliver (TripAdvisor)

Absolutely one of the most beautiful resorts in the Pacific Northwest. First class accommodations and activities galore. If I could give them six stars I would. Probably one of the best customer experiences we have had.

The Spa at Salishan was easily one of the most beautiful spas I’ve been to…The massage was epic, but so was just wandering around the spa and admiring its beauty.
